Imran Khan: Al-Qadir Trust (GBP 190 million) case case status

Prime Minister of Pakistan. The case, known as the GBP 190 million case, concerns the Al-Qadir Trust. Dawn reports the case alleges the couple obtained billions of rupees and land from Bahria Town Ltd to legalise Rs 50 billion that the UK identified and returned to Pakistan during the PTI government. An accountability court convicted Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

Status: ConvictedAn accountability court sentenced him to 14 years on 17 January 2025. The Islamabad High Court rejected his plea to suspend the sentence on 4 May 2026, and his appeal was still undecided when the court adjourned it without a new date in early October 2026.

Case history

  2. The Islamabad High Court granted an early hearing and fixed the suspension petitions and main appeals for 11 March 2026.1
  3. A bench headed by Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar dismissed the sentence suspension petitions as infructuous because the main appeals were fixed for hearing on 7 May 2026.2,4
  4. Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif granted the defence a final adjournment, saying the appeal would otherwise be decided on the available record. NAB prosecutors appeared.3
  5. The Islamabad High Court adjourned the appeals indefinitely without fixing a new date.5

In their appeals, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi argue the ruling lacked credible evidence and involved procedural lapses (Aaj News).
